Just days before their first match in the Elite one championship playoffs, Victoria United have welcomed back Bulgarian Nicolae Pantev Dimitar as head coach.

According to a release from the team, Dimitar who had previously steered the team in 2022, will be assisted by Cedric Merlin Njikeu Nkwonyim who was previously announced as head coach a few hours after the working relationship was ended with coach Guy Berlin Kamguai who led the team all through the season.

The incoming coach has a crucial task of guiding Victoria United through the playoffs while ensuring that the team achieves its goals of competing in the CAF Champions League as emphasized today by the club president during a fan meeting at the club’s premises.

Victoria United will play their first match in the playoffs against newly promoted Dynamo of Douala who finished first in pool A with 30 points, 8 wins, 6 draws and 4 defeats in 18 matches during the regular season.

While under coach Guy Berlin, Victoria United won 7 matches, drew 4 and lost 5 of their 16 matches during the regular season, finishing 5th in pool B with 22 points before gaining 5 extra points after filing protests against other teams to qualify for the playoffs UP.
